about
Asian She returns with their first single "Competitive Mourning "
from anticipated EP Kiss Under Kareem. It is their first release since their 2015 debut full length Milk The Fire. Over a 12 month period, Thomas Froggatt (She Wants Revenge), frontman Noah Lebenzon, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dave Krusen (Pearl Jam) wrote and recorded 5 bangers.
Krusen, who was the original drummer for Pearl Jam, has since left the band and has been replaced by another drummer from Seattle whose name is also Dave. This Dave’s last name is Brotherton. David Brotherton was the original drummer for Asian She. That’s a lot of originality combined right there.
The bulk of the material was written and recorded at Lebenzon’s home studio in Studio City, CA. Drums were recorded at Norm Block’s Happy Ending Studio in Silver Lake CA. Mixed by LA stalwart Manny Nieto. Mastered by Paul Logus.
Cover Art Ursula Glaviano.
Kiss Under Kareem will be released on all digital formats on July 16th through LA Hall of Records.
lyrics
COMPETITIVE MOURNING:
I’m gonna tell everybody I know I found out
I was the first to know
You’re too slow
I’m gonna tell everyone I don’t know
I'm bummed out
His Mother didn’t know
I want everyone to know how sad I am
By the death of my acquaintance
The best one I ever had
There’s a facebook picture of the two of us
Even though my hair looks bad
I want everyone to see how sad I am
If I was a fly on the wall I’d fly out
This ship is getting old we’ve been told
You wanna tell everybody you know to freak out
But it’s all a show we both know
I want everyone to know how sad I am
By the death of my acquaintance
The best one I ever had
There’s a facebook picture of the two of us
Even though my hair looks bad
I want everyone to see how sad I am
It’s obvious you don’t know what you’re doing
